Taken at my brother's graduation... Flying caps!

Special thanks to ~yosh-dewd for teaching me how to desaturate this in 2 minutes =P

You can use it for any non-commercial work without asking me first. I only check DA once every 6 months, so don't expect prompt answers.

¡This one is very nice!

I like the contrast of blue and grayscale -- it improves a lot the picture, because it drags attention.

I also like the guy which stands out a bit, in the right half of the picture. Looks as if he is jumping, and his cap goes highest. Must've really been wanting to finish off college. :)

The moment is also well chosen, opportune. You already knew they were going to throw the caps, or you just go everywhere with the camera ready? :D

I knew what was going to happen :) I went to the same highschool, and it's the same anyway in most places. The headmaster says something like 'the class of 2005 graduated!' and they throw the caps. I was very lucky and got two shots, because they threw them twice... enthusiastic people :)

So that was High School? I thought he had graduated at college.

Around here, we don't have graduations ceremonies like those... At much, a speech and the giving of diplommas, but little else. And, definitely, we don't dress with the robes and caps anymore.

It's fun to see that the things you see in movies and TV series all the time, actually do happen. I'm beginning to thing that it's us the weird ones. :P

Yes, it was highschool graduation. I've recently learned that the colors do mean something: blue/violet for highschool, black for university. I'll be posting *my* (university) graduation photos by this time next year, hopefully... Oh, and I don't think that all highschools do the robes thing.

Funny.

While not at high school, here they indeed are used at university. While you are a student, just once -- to take a picture that displays the whole year and its teachers (like this [link]). But teachers -- specially doctors -- must wear it in certain ceremonies, like doctorates or such.

The colours are related to the kind of career you are on: blue is for science; light blue is for philosphy: philology, geography and history, etc.; red is for lawyers, yellow is for medicine, orange is for economics...

But I think it changes depending on countries.

We'll be awaiting for those pictures of your graduation, then. :)
